The motor can accommodate an opening that is up to 8 feet wide. The height is limited to the space available above the opening.  To ensure proper installation, it is optimal for the space above the desired opening to be equal to the height of the finished opening, plus 12 inches. 

The motor can support a maximum weight of 200 lbs.

You can use a variety of materials for the backsplash, as long as the total weight of the finished assembly does not exceed the motor’s 200 pound capacity.  Utilizing the recommended panel as your substrate, you should be able to use  ceramic, porcelain, glass, and even stone tile for your backsplash in an opening up to 30 square feet in size, without exceeding the motor’s weight limit. 

We recommend installing the Retractable Backsplash system on a 2 x 6 wall.

The motor for the Retractable Backsplash system can be controlled by switch, remote or smart device.

Yes, the recommended motor for the Retractable Backsplash is equipped with obstacle detection functionality and is an important element of the system.

For motor maintenance purposes, it is necessary to have an access panel installed on one side of the wall.
